She also liked the way it appeared in the bedroom and thought that the grey shade is a good fit for modern homes. She did mention that it's not a good idea to rock a baby younger because it can create an unfavourable sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed to ensure a peaceful night's sleep in mind. It has a drop-side rail that is able to be easily lifted to feed your child during the night without disturbing them or getting out of the bed. This is great for breastfeeding mothers! It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during naps and for travelling.
It's made from soft materials and has mesh sides that breathe to increase airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal and has a variety of melange fabric options that are compatible with all decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when attached to her bed, with the legs securely snapping into place and the zips secure to ensure baby safety. It took Anna about 10 minutes to put together and did not require any tools. There are clear instructions as well as a video, and a customer support number if you experience any issues.
In addition to the standard features you'd expect from a crib that is bedside that include the ability to attach to your existing bed with a stay-in place connection system and six height levels The CoZee comes with an additional incline option that can be used to alleviate reflux or congestion in babies. The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive options. However, it comes with a lot of great features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib, and is suitable for infants ranging from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is easy to use even with one hand. It is also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings as well as retractable legs for a secure place under any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides that can be flipped up and down by pressing a button. This was an enormous help during night time feeds as it meant that they could reach into and pick up their baby without waking them.
The side panel can be lifted by itself, too however, it's not recommended as this increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will stay down if it is connected correctly to the parent's mattress. This is a great feature to have in place for peace of mind, especially in the case of breastfeeding and frequent night feeds.
Telescopic legs allow the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases and beds with drawers. It features a tilting feature for reflux babies, and the ability to rock to ease them into sleep after a feeding. It's also extremely large and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does come with lengthy instructions. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers, however it's very portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's small enough to fit into a travel bag when not in use, which is a plus if you need to transport it. The only downside our testers noticed was that the side panel didn't move as much as the other models, making it slightly harder to see your baby from your own bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is a great option if you want an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a sleeper crib that can be attached securely to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot when your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and strengthening the bond you have with your newborn.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, not like other models. Its dual-view mesh side panels and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable increase airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope helps reduce colic and reflux. The zipper-down side lets you to feed your baby or soothe them during the night.
The cot conversion kit (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you need to start. It took us about an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only issue with the instructions was that certain images were not captioned. This made it difficult for us to follow. However, it was a simple procedure and the quality of the materials employed was of a high standard.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for mothers who are nursing or have had a c-section. It lets them reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without leaving their bed. It's a great option for parents who do not want to go through the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot, or getting out of it.
During our testing we noticed the smooth motion of this next to me crib to be particularly helpful when it comes to getting babies to sleep after feedings at midday and in the evening. The drop-down side can be easily accessed to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night and was a major selling point for our exhausted test moms. The Joie Roomie Glide is a sleek and functional crib that doesn't rock, nor has extra features like the sound machine.
